Mason Community Arts Academy—Summer Camp 2021

The third week in June I led an Art Camp with the Mason Community Arts Academy (MCAA). For six hours, 5 days during the week, I taught 16 six to eight year olds with the theme of "Birds, Sun, and Rain". I developed lessons and projects that went along with this theme, including Bird Costumes, Cyanotype Sun Prints, Handprint Suns with Tempera Paint, Watercolor Landscapes with Washable Markers, Splatter Umbrellas with Toothbrush and Paint, as well as learning songs in American Sign Language (ASL) that were theme related. The songs were Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds", Stevie Wonder's "You Are the Sunshine of My Life", and "Singing in the Rain" by Adolph Green starring Gene Kelly in the musical. Everything was well received by students and parents.
